Federico "Pico" Sanchez- The Prince of Artaud - RIP


Frederico "Pico" Sanchez unexpectedly in his sleep early last Monday morning. He was only 63 and had just wrapped up an exhibit called the “Three Tigers,” featuring work by Sanchez and his two sons, Solomon and Hayyim. Pico was known as the Prince of Project Artaud (ten-time President), and one who brought the bright colors and joyous rhythms of Latin America to the artists' commune. He was a fixture there for twenty-five years, a reminder of the days when we were all artist-hippies, happy to be ableto  live here and create what made San Francisco so unique,
