Happy Birthday Mary Cassatt

ALLEGHENY CITY, PA.- May 22, 1844.- Mary Stevenson Cassatt was an American painter and printmaker. She lived much of her adult life in France, where she first befriended Edgar Degas and later exhibited among the Impressionists. Cassatt often created images of the social and private lives of women, with particular emphasis on the intimate bonds between mothers and children. I wonder if this image will be in the Impressionists and Water exhibit. It deserves to be. :-)

Unfortunately they didn't have anything by Cassatt in the Impressionists show. It was all men - men with boats at that. But still, an exquisite show.
